CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 26th day of May 2017 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (2).

(1)ST MARY'S LANE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in St Marys Lane, York between the respective north eastern property boundaries of No. s 4 and 7 (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 30th day May 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 7th day of June 2017 or at a time when utility works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(2) MICKLEGATE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Micklegate, York between its junctions with Queen Street and Bar Lane (closed road) and (ii) the west bound traffic lane (outbound) of Micklegate, York between its junctions with George Hudson Street and St Martin's Lane (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 12th day of June 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 22nd day of October 2017 (works period) or at a time when Micklegate Bar Renovation works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The works will be undertaken in phases and it is envisaged that between:

(a) 12th June 2017 and 18th June 2017 all vehicular traffic will prohibited from proceeding (pedal cycles may be pushed) through Micklegate Bar.



(b) 19th June 2017 and 2nd July 2017 all vehicular traffic except pedal cycles will be prohibited form proceeding through Micklegate Bar.



(c) 3rd July 2017 and 1st October 2017 all vehicular traffic except pedal cycles will be prohibited from proceeding in the south westerly traffic lane (outbound) through Micklegate Bar.



(d) 2nd October 2017 and 22nd October 2017 all vehicular traffic except pedal cycles will be prohibited form proceeding through Micklegate Bar.



The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or

emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises

provided that access is not prevented by on-going works

or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the

extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
