A31 TRUNK ROAD MERLEY ROUNDABOUT -ROUNDHOUSE ROUNDABOUT TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, and the Unitary Authority of Poole, under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works areproposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise:-
a) the overnight closure of-
i) both carriageways of the A31 between Merley Roundabout (A341) and Roundhouse Roundabout (A350);
ii) any side road at junction with the carriageways described in
i) above, and
iii) the bus stop 22 metres to the west BrickyardLane on the westbound carriageway of the A31
b) the 24-hour closure of any lay-by adjacent to the carriageways described in i) above. These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway surveys and all associated work. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 2days starting on or after Monday 12th June 2017. The overnight closures will take place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order will come into force on 10 June 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closure will be diverted using the A341, A349, A35 and A350. Access to and from premises accessible from, and only from, the carriageway described in a) i) above will be permitted by escort. The temporary mandatory closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
