TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 18th day of May 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3) and (4).
(1) ST HELEN'S SQUARE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in St Helen's Square, York (closed road) during the period when nearby building works being undertaken by crane operation from the closed road, that period commencing at 0400hrs and ending at 0700hrs on the 22nd day of May 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the closure period vehicle movements from Coney Street to Lendal will be controlled by traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) STARKEY CRESCENT, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Starkey Crescent, York between its junction with Melrosegate and the south western property boundary of No. 18 StarkeyCrescent (closed road) during the period when newelectricityconnection works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 22nd dayof May 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) HULL ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway on the south side of Hull Road, York between its junction with Windmill Lane and the western property boundary of The Black Bull Hotel (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 30th day of May 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 2nd day of June 2017 (works period) or on a date when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.
(4) SCHOOL LANE, HESLINGTON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in School Lane, Heslington between its junctions with Field Lane and Heslington Court (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 30th day of May2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 3rd day of June 2017 (works period) or at a time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
