PUBLIC PATH NOTICE THE LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY

FOOTPATH 551048 AT LANGHOLME BECK, LOWICK PARISH TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2017

NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority has made an order dated 15 May 2017. The effect of the order is to prohibit all public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over part of footpath 551048 west of Lowick Bridge Farm, Lowick Parish, between grid references SD 2885 8647 and SD 2922 8647, because ofdanger to the public from an unsafe bridge over Langholme Beck at SD 2908 8649, and to enable works to repair the bridge.

The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal; at South Lakeland District Council South Lakeland District Council, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ; and at Greenodd Post Office, Main Street, Greenodd, Ulverston, Cumbria, LA12 7RB, and online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/thingstodo/rowupdates/rowclosures.

The order will take effect on 24 May 2017 and will continue in force for up to six months. Signs will be erected showing the closed path. There is no direct alternative route. If the works have not been completed it may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
