CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 11th day of May 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3) and (4).
(1) SOUTHFIELDS ROAD, STRENSALL This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Southfields Road, Strensall between its junction with The Village and a point 40 metres south of the said junction (closed road) during the period when works to a defective manhole and cover being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1430hrs on the 15th dayof May2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the closure period vehicle movements on The Village will be controlled by two-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(2) KNAVESMIRE, YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in:
(a) Green Lane Footpath No. 46/26,
(b) York Footpath No. 46/30
to the extent that the said footpaths extend across the width of the Knavesmire Racecourse except that this prohibition will not apply to a pedestrian or vehicle proceeding other than during a period when a horse race is in progress. This is to ensure the safety of users. Manned barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition at the respective locations. The Order will come into effect on the 17th dayof May2017 and end on the 31st day of October 2017.
(3) HESSAY LEVEL CROSSING, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Hessay Level Crossing on New Road, Hessay (closed road) during the period commencing at 2230hrs on 5th day of June 2017 and ending at 0630hrs on the 6th day of June 2017 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via New Road, Main Street, Atterwith Lane, Marston Lane, A59, New Road and vice versa.
(4) YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING, HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the York Road Level Crossing on Haxby Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 2330hrs on 7th dayof June 2017 and ending at 0600hrs on the 8th day of June 2017 or at time when track maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, A1237, B1363, Mill Lane, The Village, York Road and vice versa. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergencyaccess nor will theyprohibit access topremises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
