POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2012
In accordance with Paragraph 4 of Schedule 7 to the Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations, notice is hereby given that Patersons of Greenoakhill Ltd has applied to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) to vary its permit under Regulation 46 of the above regulations. This is in respect of activities being carried out at Greenoakhill Landfill, Hamilton Road, Glasgow, G71 7SG.
The changes in the operation proposed by the application are:-
? The addition of an aggregate washing plant as a DAA at the Landfill Facility;
? The addition of dewatering of silt outputs from the aggregate washing plant and then onward use as temporary cover soils/soil substitute;
? A review and update to the site's Surface Water Management Plan;
? Update of Condition 2.8.1 which refers to the Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2005 which have been superseded by the Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2011 (as amended);
? Amendment of Condition 2.12.3 - relating to the length of netting - from 80m to 8m;
? Alteration to the capacity of recycling operations;
? The amendment of the overall tonnage limit associated with the Landfill Facility;
? The amendment of the discharge rate from 201/s to 491/s (1,725m3/d to 4,234m3/d).
The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment and on human health. The application may be inspected, free of charge, at SEPA, 6 Parklands Avenue, Holytown, ML1 4WQ from Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 4.30pm. Please quote reference number PPC/W/0020046.
The application contains a description of the proposed change and any impact it may have on:

? the activities carried out;
? the installation and any directly associated activities;
? the raw and auxiliary materials, substances and energy to be used, or generated;
? the nature, quantities and source offoreseeable emissionsfrom the installation;
? the techniques for preventing, reducing or rendering harmless emissions;
? how the best available techniques are applied to the operation of the installation;
? the proposed measures to be taken to monitor emissions;
? the measures to be taken to minimise waste and recover wastes generated;
? measures taken against pollution and to ensure that no significant pollution is caused;
? an outline of the main alternatives, if any, that have been studied; and,
? other information which the applicant may wish SEPA to take into account;

Any such representations made by any person will be entered in a public register, unless that person requests in writing that they should not be entered. Where such a request is made, a statement will be included in the register indicating that representations have been made that have been the subject of such a request.
