M27 MOTORWAYAND A31 TRUNK ROAD TEMPORARYTRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an order on the M27 Motorway and A31 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under section14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be -
(1) to authorise the phased overnight closureof-

(a) both carriageways of the M27 between

Junctions 1and 2;
(b) both carriageways of the A31 between Cadnam Interchange (M27 Junction 1) and PalmersfordRoundabout (A347);

(c) both carriageways of the A31 between

Merley Roundabout (A341) and Roundhouse Roundabout (A350);
(d) both carriageways of the A31 passing through CanfordBottom Roundabout (B3073);

(e) access to and from any side road

adjacent to the lengths of carriageway described in (1)(a) -(c) above; and
(f) all of the bus stops adjacent to both carriageways of the A31 between Verwood Road Interchange (B3081) and Palmersford Roundabout (A347).

(2) to impose a 24 hour -

(a) 50 mph speed restriction on the westbound carriageway of the A31

between apoint 100 meters west of
Breach Lane, near Ringwood, and the
centrepoint of Salisbury Road Junction
(A338) and the slip road leading to this
carriageway from Poulner Hill Junction;
(b) width restriction of 3.0 metres on the inside lane and 2.5 meters on the outside lane of the westbound carriageway of the

A31 between Poulner Hill Junction and
Salisbury Road Junction.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake barrier, carriageway,sign, and bridge works, routine maintenance, and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately 9weeks starting on or after Monday 5th June 2017. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 06:00
(maximum period).
The Order would come into force on 3June 2017 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months. During the closures outlined above, traffic affected would be diverted via other junctions of the A31 and using the A35, A326, A338, A341, A347, A349, A350, A3060, B3073, Pinehurst Road, Station Road and Southampton Road. The diversion route would vary depending on the closureinplace.
Access to premises would be maintained.
The temporary mandatory closures, and
speed and width restrictions would be clearly
indicated by traffic signs when they arein operation during the works period.
