M4 MOTORWAY
JUNCTION 5 TO JUNCTION 15
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the M4 Motorway in the Unitary Authorities of Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest, Wokingham, Reading, West Berkshire, Wiltshire, and Swindon, and the County of Buckinghamshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the following phased overnight closure of:
(a) the slip roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M4 at and between Junction 5 and 15; and
(b) sections of the circulatory roundabout at M4 Junction 8/9 between -
(i) the exit and entry points of the A308(M), and
(ii) the eastbound slip roads leading to and from the M4.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway repairs, road markings and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 13 weeks starting on or after Monday 8th May 2017. The overnight closures will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).
The Order will come into force on 6 May 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. During closures above, traffic affected will be diverted via other junctions of the M4, or by using the A404(M) or A308(M). The diversion in operation will vary depending on the closure in place.
The temporary mandatory slip road and
roundabout closures and diversion routes will
be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they
are in operation during the works periods.
