ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE M62 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 11-12 EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS AND SLIP ROADS) AND M602 AND M60 (CLOCKWISE AND ANTICLOCKWISE CARRIAGEWAYS) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M62, M60 and M602 Motorways in the City of Salford and the Boroughs of Warrington, Wigan, and St Helens in the Counties of Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside to enable resurfacing, renewal of road markings and road studs, traffic detector loops, replacement of bridge joints and, other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety. The Order will:
a) impose a 50 mph speed restriction on the following sections of the M62 Motorway:
i) the eastbound carriageway, from a point 590 metres east of the centreline of Risley Manse overbridge, to a point 400 metres east of the centreline of Ash Farm footbridge;

ii) the westbound carriageway, from a point 900 metres east of the centreline of Cutnook Lane overbridge, to a point 200 metres east of the centreline of Silver Lane East overbridge;

iii) the eastbound entry slip road at junction 11.

(b)ban all traffic from the following sections of the M62, M602 and M60 Motorways:
i) the M62 eastbound carriageway, from a point 90 metres east of the centreline of Silver Lane East overbridge, to a point 200 metres east of the centreline of Ash Farm footbridge;

ii) the M62 westbound carriageway, from a point 400 metres west of the centreline of Cutnook Lane overbridge, to a point 400 metres east of the centreline of Silver Lane East overbridge;

iii) the M62 eastbound carriageway, from the last point where the junction 11 exit slip road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the M60 clockwise to the M62/M602 eastbound link road joins the carriageway;

iv) the M602 westbound carriageway, from the last point where the M602 westbound carriageway to the M60 clockwise/anticlockwise link road leaves the carriageway, to the first point where the M60 anticlockwise to the M62 westbound link road joins the M62 carriageway (the end point of the M602);

v) the M62 westbound carriageway, from the first point where the M60 anticlockwise to the M62 westbound link road joins the M62 carriageway (the start point of the M62), to the first point where the M62 junction 11 entry slip road joins the carriageway;

vi) the M62 eastbound entry slip road at junction 11;

vii) the M62 eastbound to the M60 clockwise/anticlockwise link road;

viii) the M62 westbound exit slip road at junction 11;

ix) the M60 clockwise carriageway to the M62 westbound link road from the last point where it leaves the M60 clockwise to the M602 eastbound link road, to the first point where it joins the M62 westbound carriageway;

x) the M60 anticlockwise carriageway to the M62 westbound link road, from the last point where it leaves the M60 anticlockwise to the M602 eastbound link road, to the first point where it joins the M62 westbound carriageway.

(c) allow the hardshoulder adjacent to the sections of the M62 Motorway described at (b) (i) and (ii) above to be used as running lanes. A 50 mph speed limit will be in force on the hardshoulder when used as a running lane. Prohibitions (b) and restrictions (c) are expected to be in place overnight between 2000 hours and 0500 hours (continuing until 0700 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings) starting on Friday 26 May 2017 and ending on Friday 4 August 2017. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or continue until completed. Restrictions (a) (i), (ii) and (iii) are expected to be in place during a continuous period starting at 2000 hours on Friday 26 May 2017 and ending at 2359 hours on Sunday 28 May 2017, and restarting again at 2000 hours on Friday 2 June 2017 and ending at 0500 hours on Monday 31 July 2017. However, work may start and continue beyond these dates until completed.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M62, M602 and M60 Motorways and local roads will be well signed. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will be indicated by traffic signs.
