(GRAY AVENUE, SHERBURN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017
The Council on 27/04/17 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 240m length of Gray Avenue between its junctions with C12a Hallgarth Street and Coalford Road, Sherburn by reason of carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 7.00 am on Monday 08.05.17and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 4 weeks (in three-phased closures to maintain access to properties). However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: from the western side of the closure from Gray Avenue via Cummings Avenue, Dowsey Road and Ushaw Avenue; or via Kidd Avenue, Front Street and Hallgarth Street to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.
(DURHAM CITY (SOUTH WEST)) (PARKING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2013 (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2017
The Council on 27/04/17 made an Order under Sections 1, 2,4, 32, 35,45, 46,46A, 47 & 49 & Pt. IV of Sch. 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("RTRA"), as amended, the effect of which becomes operational on 08/05/17 and removes the existing No Waiting 10am-6am except taxis and Loading Only 6am-10ambays on the south side of North Rd and introduce No Stopping 10am-6am except taxis & Loading Only 6am-10am restrictions in two purpose built laybys on North Rd: (1) on the south side of North Road running from its junction with Neville St. in a south easterly direction for approx. 40m; and (2) on the north side of North Rd running in a south easterly direction from No. 75 North Rd for approx. 35m. Full details are contained in the sealed Order which may be inspected at Durham Clayport Library and County Hall, Durham Mon-Fri during normal opening hours and via the council website. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the RTRA, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from the date of this notice apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
