(Various Roads, Basildon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Clearway) (No.2) Order 2017
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the various lengths of road in the Borough of Basildon as specified:
Road
A129 London Road, Billericay
Description
From its junction with B1007 High Street to its junction with Mountnessing Road for a distance of approximately 765 metres.
Alternative route
A176 Laindon Road, A176 Noak Hill Road, A127 Southend Arterial Road, A128 Brentwood Road, A128 Ingrave Road, A1023 Shenfield Road, A129 Hutton Road, A129 Rayleigh Road and vice versa.
Staneway, High Road, B148 West Mayne, Mandeville Way and vice versa.
Staneway High Road, B148 West Mayne, Mandeville Way and vice versa.
A132 East Mayne, A1235 Cranes Farm Road, Gardiners Lane South and vice versa.
A1245 Chelmsford Road, A132 Runwell Road, A132 Golden Jubilee Way, A129 Southend Road and vice versa.
Northbound Traffic - A129 London Road, Western Road and B1007
High Street.
Southbound Traffic - Chapel Street, Sun Street and B1007 High Street.
Mandeville Way, Langdon Hills
From its junction with Staneway to its junction with Nightingales roundabout for a distance of approximately 2174 metres. From its junction with Mandeville Way to its junction with High Road for a distance of approximately 238 metres.
From its junction with Gardiners Lane South to its junction with A132 East Mayne for a distance of approximately 1053 metres. From its junction with Hill Avenue roundabout to its junction with A1245 roundabout for a distance of approximately 3098 metres From its junction with A129 London Road to its junction with Alma Link for a distance of approximately 274 metres
High Street from its junction with A129 London Road to its junction with Radford Way roundabout for a distance of approximately 809 metres.
Norsey Road from its junction with High Street to its junction with St Andrews Drive for a distance of approximately 343 metres. From its junction with Furrowfelde to the end of the road for a distance of approximately 165 metres

St Andrews Drive, B1007 High Street, A129 London Road, Mountnessing Road, Radford Way and vice versa. No diversion.
Whiteshott, Basildon
2. A temporary 'No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Stopping restriction will be in force. The Essex County Council (Basildon District) (permitted parking area and special parking area) (Consolidation) Order 2008 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18 month period from 5th May 2017, exact dates will be specified on http://roadworks.org/. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter / leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road. Phase One

Machine surfacing - the existing surface will be removed and a new surface laid.

until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
