A35 TRUNK ROAD (MONKEY JUMP AND STINSFORD ROUNDABOUTS, NEAR DORCHESTER) TEMPORARYRESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the A35 Trunk Road Monkey Jump and StinsfordRoundabouts near Dorchester in Dorset, because works areproposed to be executed near that road. The effect of the Order would be to:
(a) impose a30miles per hour speed limit on:
(i) both carriageways of the A35 from
Monkeys Jump roundabout to 1150 metres west of Monkeys Jump roundabout;
(ii) both carriageways of the A35 from
Stinsfordroundabout to 650 metres east
of Stinsfordroundabout;
(b) prohibit vehicles over 3metres in width
proceeding on the A35 westbound
carriageway described at (a)(ii) above;
(c) prohibit vehicles over 3.25 metres in width
proceeding on:
(i) both carriageways of the A35 as
described at (a)(i) above;
(ii) A35 eastbound carriageway over the same lengths as described at (a)(ii) above;
(d) authorise the closureofall laybys adjacent
to the A35 situated between locations
described at (a) above; These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors carry out surveying and would be in place between 6.00am and 8.00pm. Drivers of abnormal loads that exceed the restrictions at (b) above will be notified in advance. The restrictions would not apply to emergency
service or special forces vehicles.
The Order would come into force on 7May 2017 and have amaximum duration of eighteen months. However, itisexpected that the surveys would take place on 9May 2017 and 11 May 2017. The temporary mandatory speed limits, width restriction and layby closures would all be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period and would only apply when traffic
management measures areinplace.
