(MILLBURNGATE FOOTBRIDGE. DURHAM) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH/BRIDGE CLOSURE) ORDER 2016

The above-named Order made by the Council on 13/10/16, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 24/10/16 has been continued in force from 24/04/17, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 24/04/18 or until it is stopped up, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily close to all pedestrian traffic the segregated footpath/bridge that extends from the north western side of Millburngate Bridge to Framwelgate Waterside, and to The Gates Shopping Centre to enable demolition and redevelopment works to be undertaken to Millburngate House. An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the western side of the closure from the northern footway of Millburngate Bridge, easterly to Claypath turning southerly toward the Market Place and westerly onto Walkergate onto Freemans Place and north westerly onto Pennyferry Footbridge leading to Framwelgate Waterside to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa (GRAY AVENUE, SHERBURN) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017 The Council proposes in not less than 7 days fromthe date ofthis notice to make an Orderunder Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 240m length of Gray Avenue between its junctions with C12a Hallgarth Street and Coalford Road, Sherburn by reason of carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 7.00 am on Monday 08.05.17and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 4 weeks (in three-phased closures to maintain access to properties). Alternative route: from the western side of the closure from Gray Avenue via Cummings Avenue, Dowsey Road and Ushaw Avenue; or via Kidd Avenue, Front Street and Hallgarth Street to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.

The Council on 13/04/17 made the following 2 Orders under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended:

(ELVET BRIDGE, DURHAM) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

The effect will be to close to all vehicular traffic a 195m length of Elvet Bridge between its junctions with Saddler Street and New Elvet crossroads, Durham City by reason of bridge waterproofing and paving refurbishment works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from24/04/17 and forthe duration of the works anticipated to be 28 weeks. There is no alternative route available to vehicular traffic. (ROAD SOUTH OF HAG FARM, ARNISON CENTRE & ABBEY ROAD, PITY ME, DURHAM) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE & NO RIGHT TURN) ORDER 2017 The effect will be to close to: 1) close to all vehicular traffic a 100m length of road that extends southwards from Hag Farm Roundabout to Sainsbury's Roundabout, Arnison Centre, Durham; and 2) prohibit vehicular traffic from turning right from the eastern end of Abbey Road onto the Mercia-Retail-Park-Roundabout to Abbey-Sports-Centre-Roundabout road, Durham to enable road widening works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 24/04/17 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 6 weeks. Alternative route: from the northern side of the closure from Hag Farm Roundabout easterly to Red House Farm Roundabout, southerly to the Newton Grange Roundabout then westerly on Pit Lane to the Abbey Sports Centre Roundabout then north to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa. Vehicles egressing Abbey Road eastbound wishing to turn right will need to turn left and northwards to and around Mercia Retail Park Roundabout; and those wishing to turn right from the road south of Mercia-Retail-Park-Roundabout will need to continue southwards to and around the Abbey-Sports-Centre-Roundabout road to access Abbey Road. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the above closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Dated: 20 April 2017
