CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 12th day of April 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4), (5) and (6).
(1) MARCH STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in March Street, York (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 20th day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(2) SCARBOROUGH TERRACE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Scarborough Terrace, York (closed road) during the period when electricityworks being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of April 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 26th day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) GILLYGATE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Gillygate, York (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of April 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 19th day of May 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be available via Clarence Street, Wigginton Road, Crichton Avenue, Burdyke Avenue, Water Lane, Clifton, Bootham and vice versa.
(4) WINDSOR GARTH, ACOMB
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Windsor Garth, Acomb between its junctions with Kempton Close and Woodford Place (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1630hrs on the 28th day of April 2017 (work period) or at time when carriagewayimprovement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(5) CONINGHAM AVENUE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Coningham Avenue, York between its junctions with Manor Lane and Cobham Way (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1530hrs on the 5th day of May 2017 (work period) or at time when water maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(6) MARKET STREET, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Market Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 1830hrs on the 8th day of May 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th dayof May2017 (work period) or attime when water connection works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Market Street & Feasegate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said roads when the closure is put into effect. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 1830hrs and 2300hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
The above temporaryOrders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
