Herefordshire Council Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the A44 Mill Street, Leominster Temporary Closure Order 2017 to

temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles 20 meters either side of Mill Street level crossing OS Grid Ref: 259498 / 350014. The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the A49 onto Southern Avenue onto South Street onto Westbury Street onto Dishley Street onto the A44 and vice versa.

The said closure is required due to the replacement of level crossing warning lights and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 6th May 2017 from 23:00hrs approximatley and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months, (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State), but the works are expected to be completed within 8 hours.
