CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 30th day of March 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) and (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (5), (6), (7) and (8).
(1) HIGH PETERGATE/LOW PETERGATE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of High Petergate and Low Petergate, York between its junctions with Duncombe Place and Grape Lane (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 1030hrs on the 3rd day of April and ending at 1600hrs on the 4th day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 1030hrs and 1600hrs each day during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) THE STONEBOW, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of The Stonebow, York between its junctions with Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate and Garden Place (closed road) during the period when nearby delivery works being undertaken by crane operation from the closed road, that period commencing at 0700hrs and ending at 1900hrs on the 2nd day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) HUNGATE, YORK
This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in Hungate, York (adjacent to StonebowHouse) between its junctions with The Stonebowand St Saviourgate (closed road) during the period when nearby development works being undertaken adjacent to the closed road, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 3rd day of April 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 5th day of March 2018 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the Taxi feeder rank on St Saviourgate, between points 9.6 and 15.6 metres north east of the southern kerbline of Hungate will be suspended during the works period. It is envisaged that the Taxi feeder rank will only be suspended at dates/times when deliveries are expected to the nearby development site. No alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) EASON VIEW & TURNMIRE ROAD, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of (i) Eason View, York between its junctions with Thanet Road and Lerecroft Road and (ii) Turnmire Road, York (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0915hrs on 6th day of April 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 7th day of April 2017 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) HOWDEN LANE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Howden Lane, York between its junctions with A19 and B1222 (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1500hrs on the 10th day of April 2017 (work period) or at time when tree felling works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) MARCH STREET, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in March Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 20th day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(7) SCARBOROUGH TERRACE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Scarborough Terrace, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of April 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 26th day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when electricity works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(8) GILLYGATE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding in Gillygate, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of April 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on 19th May 2017 or at a time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be available via Clarence Street, Wigginton Road, Crichton Avenue, Burdyke Avenue, Water Lane, Clifton, Bootham and vice versa.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
