NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A MODIFICATION ORDER

THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY FOR THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY UPGRADING OF ROYDS ROAD THROUGH TO HARDMAN DRIVE, BACUP, FROM FOOTPATH TO BRIDLEWAY (DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION) ORDER 2015
On the 28th March 2017 Lancashire County Council confirmed the above Order.
The effect of the Order, as confirmed without modification, is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by upgrading public footpath to bridleway from a point on Hardman Drive opposite the electricity sub-station (Point A on the Order plan, grid reference SD 8370 2132) running south east in front of Tenterheads for a distance of 30 metres through a field gate (Point B) and a further 60 metres alongside a flagstone wall to the field boundary (Point C, SD 8377 2126). It then heads east north east alongside a wall for 200 metres through a field gate (Point D) and a further 4 metres to junction of footpaths 637,627 and 628 (Point E, SD 8396 2133). It then continues along an enclosed track, known as Royds Road, for 370 metres through an old gateway (Point F) then a further 100 metres past a junction with footpath 625 (Point G) and 110 metres to Rakehead Lane (Point H, SD 8453 2144), for a total distance of 880 metres.
A copy of the Order, as confirmed, and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at the offices of the West Lancashire Borough Council and at my offices from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Copies of the Order and Order Map may be bought there at the price of £1.00.
The Order took effect on the 28th March 2017, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the Order, he may, under Paragraph 11 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from the date of publication of this Notice, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
