ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A41 GLA ROAD (EDGWARE WAY) (LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET)(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND STOPPING) ORDER 2017
1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.
2. This purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway patching works to take place on A41 Edgware Way
3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:
(1) Entering, Exiting, Proceeding or Stop on the eastbound carriageway of A41 Edgware Way between its junction with the circulatory traffic system at the junctions of Spur Road, Edgware Way and Green Lane, hereafter referred to as Spur Road roundabout and a point 200 metres eastwards.
(2) Proceeding on the northbound carriageway of Edgware Way between its junctions with Spur Road roundabout and the administrative boundaries of London Borough of Barnet and Hertfordshire County Council.
(3) Entering, Exiting or Proceeding on the westbound carriageway of A41 Edgware Way from its junction with Edgwarebury Lane for a distance 228 metres westwards.
Making a U turn on A41 Edgware Way between its junctions with Spur Road roundabout and the administrative boundaries of The London Borough of Barnet and County Council
The Order will be effective between 7th April 2017 and 6th July 2017 each night: Tuesday to Friday, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM or when the works have been completed whichever is sooner. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
4. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:
(1) Any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;
(2) Anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.
At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via: (for Edgware Way eastbound traffic wishing to proceed on the A41 Edgware Way at its junction with the Spur Road roundabout follow: Spur Road, Stonegrove, High Street, Station road, Hale Lane, Selvage Lane to normal route of traffic. Traffic wishing to proceed on the A41 Edgware Way (northbound) from Spur Road or at its junction with the Spur Road Roundabout: Spur Road roundabout, Spur Road, Brockley Hill, Brockley Hill roundabout to normal route of traffic. For the closure of A41 Edgware Way between its junctions with Edgwarebury Lane and Ashcombe Gardens: Edgwarebury Lane, A5100 Station Road, High Street, A5 Stonegrove, Canons Corner roundabout, Spur Road to normal route of travel.Traffic wishing to turn left into the Ashcombe Gardens from A41 Edgware Way: Edgwarebury Lane, Purcells Avenue, Glendale Avenue to normal route of traffic and the reverse route (to join the diversion route above for traffic wishing to join A41 Edgware Way).HGV traffic wishing to proceed on the A41 Edgware Way (westbound) from the A41 Edgware Way (west bound) at its junction with Edgwarebury Lane follow: A1 Watford Way (southbound) at Apex roundabout, A41 Watford Way (south bound), A41 Hendon Way (southbound), A406 North Circular Road (west bound), take first exit at the M1 junction 1 roundabout towards the staples corner roundabout, take second exit at the staples corner roundabout, A5 Edgware Road (northbound), A5 West Hendon Broadway (northbound), A5 Edgware Road (northbound), A5 Burnt Oak Broadway (northbound), AS High Street (north bound), A5 Stonegrove (northbound). Spur Road (eastbound) to normal route of traffic.
