Temporary Closure of Footpath 26, Swanage
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath 26, Swanage in front of the Lifeboat Station, between grid reference SZ 0368 7862 and grid reference SZ 0388 7863, a distance of approximately 200 metres. The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. The footpath is currently closed. The Order will come into operation again on Monday 03 April 2017 for another period of 26 weeks. The Order is required to allow the completion of the new RNLI Lifeboat Station. An alternative route will be signposted around the closure until the works are completed.
