TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 23rd day of March 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) and (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (5), (6) and (7).
(1) MAIN STREET, ELVINGTON
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Main Street, Elvington between its junctions with Riverside Gardens, Elvington and Woldcroft, Sutton upon Derwent (closed road) during the period when tree felling works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1200hrs on the 26th day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) HOPGROVE LANE SOUTH, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Hopgrove Lane South, York between its junction with Stockton Lane and a point 250m north west of the said junction (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1530hrs on the 27th day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) CRANBROOK AVENUE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Cranbrook Avenue, York between its junctions with Boroughbridge Road (A59) and Cranbrook Road (closed road) during the period when gas main replacement works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 27th day of March 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) MAIN STREET, NETHER POPPLETON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Main Street, Nether Poppleton between its junctions with Church Lane and Ferrymans Walk (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1530hrs on the 30th day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) EASON VIEW & TURNMIRE ROAD, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Eason View, York between its junctions with Thanet Road and Lerecroft Road and (ii) Turnmire Road, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0915hrs on the 6th day of April 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 7th day of April 2017 (works period) or at time when carriageway maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) FOOTPATH LINKING OSBALDWICK LANE & WYCLIFFE AVENUE, YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footpath linking Osbaldwick Lane and Wycliffe Avenue, York (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 10th day of March 2017 and ending at 1600hrs on the 11th day of March 2017 (works period) or on a date when footpath repair works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(7) UNIVERSITY ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the central reservation traffic lane of Hull Road, York between a point 75 metres east of the the projected western kerbline of Pinelands Way and a point 30 metres west of the said kerbline (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 10th day of April 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 12th day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
