Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Leigh Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 114) Order 2016 which will come into operation on 5th April 2017
The effect of the Order will be to revoke the no waiting at School Entrances on:-
Road
Side
From
To
Kensington Drive, Higher Folds
East
From a point 7 metres north of Chepstow Grove
For a distance of 31.56 metres in a northerly direction
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
Road
Side
From
To
Queensway, Leigh
East
A point 113 metres north of its junction with Regent Drive
And including its cul de sac end
A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be inspected at the Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, between 9am and 4.30pm on any day from Monday to Friday and at Leigh Library on its usual days and times of opening. Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground -
(a) that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004 or

(b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 9th March 2017 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
