CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 9th day of March 2017 continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of the location numbered (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (3).

(1) OUTGANG LANE, YORK



This Order continues in force The York (Outgang Lane) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2017 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on 11th March 2017. This is necessary to ensure that carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Outgang Lane, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 12th day of March 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of March 2017 or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 2000hrs and 0600hrs during the works period. No alternative route will be available during the works period.

(2) ABBEY STREET, YORK



This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Abbey Street, York (closed road) during the period when water and gas works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 11th day of March 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 14th day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period. This Order continues the temporary road closure Notice which had an end date of 2400hrs on the 10th day of March 2017.

(3) WIGGINTON ROAD, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Wigginton Road, York between its junctions with A1237 and Mill Lane, Wigginton (closed road) during the period commencing at 2200hrs on the 21st day of March 2017 and ending at 0600hrs on the 23rd day of March 2017 (work period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 2200hrs and 0600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
