(BEAMISHBURN ROAD, BEAMISH, STANLEY) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

The Council, on 02/03/17 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all traffic a Beamishburn Road that extends southwards from its junction with Byway No 62 Stanley Parish (the road leading to Beamish Hall), Beamish for a distance of 70m to enable bridge repair works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 13/03/17 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 8 weeks. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: from the northern side of the closure from Beamishburn Road northwards onto A6076 then southerly on Causey Road to the junction with Badgers Wood/Beamishburn Road to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa.

(FOOTPATH BETWEEN RENNY'S LANE AND SHEPHERDS COURT/ SUNDERLAND ROAD, GILESGATE) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2016

The above-named Order made by the Council on 03/03/16, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and whichbecame operational on 14/03/16 has been continued in force from 14/03/17, as approved by the Secretary ofState forTransport, until 31/07/17 oruntil completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily close to all pedestrian traffic a 130m length of footpath that extends northwards from the business premises north of Wesley House, off Ernest Place / Renny's Lane, to the access to Shepherds Court, off Sunderland Road, Gilesgate, Durham. An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the southern side of the closure from Renny's Lane either: (1) westerly to Mill Lane and northerly to Sunderland Road and easterly; or (2) easterly to Dragon Lane, northerly to Sunderland Road and westerly to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa.

The Council on 02/03/17 made an Order under Sections 1, 2,4, 84 & 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), as amended, the effects of which come into operation on 20/03/17 and introduces a 20mphspeed limit restriction on (a) the entire lengths ofthe following roads, including all side streets/back lanes,: Bassenthwaite Ave, Buttermere Cl, Caragh Rd, Carrowmore Rd, Chiltern Ave, Coniston Cl, Cotswold Ave, Cumbrian Ave, Dunmoor Ct, Dunvegan Ave, Gibbs Ct, Grampian Ave, Hambledon Ave, Hawes Ave, Lomond Pl, Loweswater Ave, Lowther Ave, Malvern Ave, Moorfoot Ave, Pennine Ave, Pentland Ct, Quantock Ave, Reay Ct, Sheelin Ave, Southdowns, The Elms, Thirlmere Ave and Winderemere Ave and (b) Cleveland Ave from 15m south ofits junction with the C91 Waldridge Rd southerly for188m, Esthwaite Ave from9m south of its junction with the Unc Grasmere Rd southerly for its entire length. Rydal Rd from 13m south of its westerly junction with Unc Grasmere Rd in a southerly then easterly then northerly then westerly direction to a point 6m east of its junction with Unc. The Council on 02/03/17 made an Order under Sections 81, 82, 83 & 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), as amended, the effects of which come into operation on 10/04/17 and introduces a 20mphspeed limit restriction on the entire lengths ofthe following roads (including side streets and back lanes): Albert Ct, Barrington Way, Beaumont Cl, Bow St, Burn St, Carey Cl, Castle Ave, Charlton Ct, Jones Ct, Lawson Rd, Monteigene Dr, Newburn Ave. Norton Ave, Romaine Sq, Runcie Rd, St Johns Cres, Surtees Ave, The Leases, Tunstall Ave, Tweddle Terr and Wolsey Cl. AND part lengths ofthe following roads: Bede Terr from2m east ofjunction with A177 Durham Rd easterly then northerly direction to 9m south ofjunction with Prince Charles Ave, William St from 5m south of junction with Prince Charles Ave southerly for its entire length, Edward Ave from 14m south of junction with Prince Charles Ave southerly for its entire length and un-named road linking A177 Durham Rd and Runcie Rd from 8m east of junction with A177 Durham Road easterly for its entire length. (CLAYPATH AREA, DURHAM CITY) (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 2017

On 02/03/17 the Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2 & 4 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("RTRA"), as amended, the effect ofwhichcomes into operation on 13/03/17 and will make permanent the experimental orderthat has been in operation since 30/10/15, the effect ofwhichwill prohibit motor vehicles from proceeding on: (a) Claypath in any direction between its junction with Providence Row and its junction with the Market Place; and (b) the one way slip road access from A690 Claypath from 9pm Fri to 4am Sat & 9pm Sat to 4am Sun (and evenings of and preceding Bank and Public Holidays) - (exemptions apply to emergency service vehicles, public service vehicles and permit holders). A copy of the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Durham & Clayport Library during normal opening hours & via the Council website.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the above 3 Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the "RTRA", as amended, or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with, may within 6 weeks from 09/03/17 apply to make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
