CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 2nd day of March 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) and (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (5), (6) and (7).
(1) OUTGANG LANE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Outgang Lane, York (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 2000hrs on the 6th day of March and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 2000hrs and 0600hrs during the works period. No alternative route will be available during the works period.
(2) WIGGINTON ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Wigginton Road, York between its junction with Clifton Moor Gate and Bootham Level Crossing (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 2000hrs on the 6th day of March and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 2000hrs and 0600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) CALF CLOSE, HAXBY This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Calf Close, Haxby between its junction with York Road and a point 180 metres east of the said junction (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 6th day of March and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of April 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the closure period vehicle movements on York Road will be controlled by two-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) WATER END, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Water End, York between its junctions with Salisbury Road and Westminster Road (closed road) during the period when nearby flood defence works being undertaken by crane operation from the closed road, that period commencing at 2100hrs on the 6th day of March and ending at 0500hrs on the 8th day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 2100hrs and 0500hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) POTTERY LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Pottery Lane, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 20th day of March 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time/date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(6) KINGS STAITH & QUEENS STAITH. YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the steps on (i) Kings Staith, York adjacent to 1 Low Ousegate and (ii) Queens Staith, York adjacent to 1 Bridge Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 20th day of March 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day of March 2017 (works period) or at time when maintenance works being undertaken to the steps have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition will be put into effect in two phases and only one set of steps will be closed at any one time during the works period. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and traffic will be signed during the works period.
(7) UNIVERSITY ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in University Road, York between its junctions with Innovation Way and Main Street, Heslington (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 20th day of March 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time/date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
