ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Oxford,Thames Path Footpath closure

Date of Order: 5 September 2016 Came into force: 12 September 2016

An Order was introduced because of construction works which was anticipated to take 14 months to complete. The effect of the order is that the section of Thames Footpath No. 320/3 behind the building site in Abbey Road has been closed from its junction with Botley Road to its junction with the access-way between Nos. 7 and 9 Abbey Road opposite Cripley Place. The diversion is signed via Botley Road, Abbey Road eastside, and the access opposite Cripley Place. Appropriate traffic signs are displayed to indicate the closure is in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. The 6 month order has been extended with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport for a further 6 months until 12 September 2017, or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
