Temporary Closure of Chilfrome Lane, Maiden Newton
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHILFROME LANE, MAIDEN NEWTON from the junction with Chilfrome Lane to Crewkerne Road To Chilfrome Road, a distance of approximately 160 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 27th February 2017 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 8th March 2017. This order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to excavate a working area to locate mains pipe to allow cross connection to be installed and reinstate in the highway. This closure has been extended in length due to emergency work needed to a chamber in the verge outisde the Pump Station. An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Chilfrome Lane - Higher Drove - A356 - Chilfrome Lane.
