St. Helens Borough Council The Local Authorities (Referendums) (Petitions and Directions) (England) Regulations 2011
PUBLICATION OF VERIFICATION NUMBER
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, in accordance with Regulation 4 of the above regulations, Mike Palin, Electoral Registration Officer and Proper Officer for St Helens Borough Council hereby publishes the number that is equal to 5% of the number of local government electors shown on the electoral register having effect for the St Helens area on 15 February 2017.
The said number of electors is 6715
This number will be used for the purposes of determining the validity of petitions presented after 31 March 2017 and before 1 April 2018, seeking a referendum on whether or not there should be an elected mayor, unless the circumstances mentioned in the paragraph below apply.
If the number for 2018, is less than 6715, that lower number will be used for verification purposes in relation to any petition submitted between the date the number is published and 31 March 2018. The principal office address for the delivery of any petition is set below.
