WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL (SHEERLANDS ROAD, ARBORFIELD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY given that on the 13th day of February 2017 Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority made an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and all other enabling powers the effect of which continued in force the restrictions imposed by Notice under Section 14 (2) of the Act dated 11th February 2017 prohibiting any vehicle from proceeding along Sheerlands Road, Arborfield between its junctions with A327 Eversley Road and Baird Road.
The restriction is necessary to enable construction work relating to the Nine Mile Ride Extension to be undertaken in safety.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be by proceeding via A327 Eversley Road, Langley Common Road, Biggs Lane, Princess Marina Drive and Baird Road, or by this route in reverse.
The restriction shall only apply during those periods when traffic signs complying with the requirements of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Direction 2016 are lawfully displayed in the said road indicating that the restriction is in operation.
Access for residents and businesses within the boundary of the restriction will be maintained at all times although the road will no longer be a through route.
The restrictions contained in the Order shall come into force on the 17th day of February 2017 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months.
