CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 9th day of February 2017 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5) and (6). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (7), (8), (9) and (10).
(1) USHER LANE, HAXBY
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the north bound traffic lane of Usher Lane, Haxby between its junction with Station Road and Oaken Grove, Haxby (closed traffic lane) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on 13th day February 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 5th day of March 2017 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) UNION TERRACE, YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway on the north western side of Union Terrace, York between the northern property boundary line of No. 98 Union Terrace and a point 20 metres north east of the property boundary line (closed footpath) during the period when nearby demolition works being undertaken adjacent to the closed footpath that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 13th day of February 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of February 2017 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.
(3) STRENSALL NO. 3 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No.3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2330hrs on the 15th day of February 2017 and ending at 0600hrs on the 16th day of February 2017 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Village, York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane and vice versa.
(4) CHERRY STREET, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Cherry Street, York between its junctions with Darnborough Street and Ebor Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 18th day of February 2017 or on a date when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the prohibition on vehicles proceeding in Cherry Street between points 43 and 44 metres from the highwayboundary line on the north side of Vine Street will be suspended during the period when the prohibition is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) CAMPLESHON ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Campleshon Road, York between its junctions with Bishopthorpe Road and Albemarle Road (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0915hrs on the 15th day of February and ending at 2400hrs on the 27th day of February 2017 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(6) STRENSALL NO. 2 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 2 Level Crossing on Moor Lane/Princess Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 18th day of February 2017 and ending at 0900hrs on the 19th day of February 2017 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Moor Lane, Ox Carr Lane, York Road, Princess Road and vice versa.
(7) POPPLETON STATION LEVEL CROSSING, UPPER POPPLETON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Poppleton Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Upper Poppleton (closed road) during the period commencing at 2230hrs on 19th day of February 2017 and ending at 0630hrs on the 20th day of February 2017 or at time when track maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Long Ridge Lane, Millfield Lane, A1237, Boroughbridge Road (A59), Station Road and vice versa.
(8) BEDERN, YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in Bedern, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 22nd day of February 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 1st day of March 2017 (works period) or on a date when electricity works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.
(9) REAR ALLEYWAY TO ROSSLYN STREET, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding in the rear alleyway to properties No. 1-31 Rosslyn Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 22nd day of February 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 17th day of March 2017 (works period) or on a date when utility installation works are being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted vehicles will be available during the works period.
(10) SWINEGATE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Swinegate, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 1030hrs on the 27th day of February 2017 and ending at 1700hrs on the 31st day of March 2017 (works period) or at a time when footway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Swinegate and Grape Lane is suspended during the period of physical closure in the closed road to allow two-way traffic flow in the said roads during the works period. It is envisaged that the prohibition will only be put into effect between 1030hrs - 1700hrs Monday to Friday during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
