National Grid Electricity Transmission Yate, Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire
Notice of Application for Consent to divert a section of 275,000 Volt Overhead Line in the area of South Gloucestershire Council
Notice is hereby given that National Grid Electricity Transmission pic (National Grid) intends to make an application under Section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989 for the consent of the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to construct a permanent diversion of a short section of 275kV (275,000 volts) overhead line in the area of Yate, north of Chipping Sodbury Quarry, between Bury Hill Lane and Mapleridge Lane. The overhead line diversion is required to accommodate the extension of quarrying at Chipping Sodbury Quarry.
The proposed short diversion of the existing 275kVXL overhead line would be approximately 1.4km in length and be constructed along the present route alignment. Three existing pylons would be removed, and replaced with two taller pylons to carry the overhead line over the land to be quarried.
