THE A556 TRUNK ROAD & M6 MOTORWAY [JUNCTION 19 ROUNDABOUT AND SLIP & LINK ROADS)
[TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the A556 Trunk Road and M6 Motorway in the Borough of Cheshire East in the County of Cheshire to enable resurfacing, renewal of road markings, replacement of joints, cutting traffic induction loops, kerb installation; and other general maintenance works; to be carried out in safety.
The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the A556 Trunk Road and the M6 Motorway:-
i. the A556 northbound carriageway, from the last point where it leaves the M6 at the junction 19 roundabout, to the centreline of its junction with the A50 Warrington Road;

ii. the A556 southbound carriageway, from the centreline of its junction with the A50 Warrington Road, to the first point where it joins the M6 junction 19 roundabout;

iii. the M6 southbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 19;

iv. the A556 southbound to M6 southbound designated link road at M6 junction 19;

v. the M6 northbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 19;

vi. the A556/M6 junction 19 roundabout;

vii. the A556/M6 junction 19 roundabout, from the last point where the M6 junction 19 northbound entry slip road leaves the roundabout, to the first point where the M6 junction 19 southbound exit slip road joins the roundabout;

viii. the A556/M6 junction 19 roundabout, from the last point where the M6 junction 19 southbound entry slip road leaves the roundabout, to the first point where the M6 junction 19 northbound exit slip road joins the roundabout.

Cyclists will be prohibited from entering the closures described at vi, vii and viii above. The works will be completed in 3 phases, and are expected to take place overnight between 2100 hours and 0500 hours (continuing to 0700 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings), during a period starting on Monday 13 February 2017 and ending on Friday 31 March 2017. However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A556 Trunk Road, the M6 Motorway, and local roads will be well signed. Access to properties will be maintained throughout the works.
The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, traffic officer, or winter maintenance vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
