ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14 THE M62 MOTORWAY [JUNCTIONS 9-7 EASTBOUND & WESTBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS AND JUNCTION 8 SLIP ROADS) [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M62 Motorway in the Borough of Warrington in the County of Cheshire to enable carriageway widening, traffic signal upgrades, street lighting works, surfacing, signage and white lining; to be carried out in safety.
(a) The Order will impose speed restrictions on the following sections of the M62 Motorway:

i) a 50 mph speed restriction on the westbound carriageway, from a point 1450 metres east of the centreline of the junction 8 eastern overbridge (Airfield East), to a point 100 metres east of the centreline of the junction 8 eastern overbridge (Airfield East);

ii) a 50 mph speed restriction on the westbound junction 8 exit slip road, from the last point where the exit slip road leaves the westbound carriageway, to a point 190 metres east of its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout;

iii) a 50 mph speed restriction on the eastbound junction 8 exit slip road, from a point 190 west of its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout, to its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout;

iv) a 50 mph speed restriction on the eastbound junction 8 entry slip road, from its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout, to a point 50 metres east of its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout;

v) a 30 mph speed restriction on the westbound junction 8 exit slip road, from a point 190 metres east of its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout, to its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout;

vi) a 30 mph speed restriction on the westbound junction 8 entry slip road, from its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout, to a point 180 metres west of its junction with the Burtonwood Road Roundabout.

(b) The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M62 Motorway:

i) the westbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 8;

ii) the eastbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 8.

Prohibitions (b) are expected to take place overnight between 2000 hours and 0600 hours (continuing to 0700 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Monday 27 February 2017 and ending on Monday 16 July 2018. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed Restrictions (a) are expected to take place during a continuous period starting at 0001 hours on Monday 27 February 2017 and ending at 2359 hours on Monday 16 July 2018. However, work may start and continue beyond these dates until completed. Diversions via alternative junctions of the M62 and local roads will be well signed. The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance, or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions and restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
