ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT (Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage
Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 as amended by SI 2005/1399 and SI 2006/618
Startley Flow Gauging Station
The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences at Startley Flow Gauging station, Rodbourne Brook, Malmesbury, SN16 0EY (NGR ST9402783155). The proposed improvement works will involve the following: Remove existing gauging hut and replace with equivalent sized GRP hut. Design and install bank stabilisation of both banks for a distance of approximately 5 metres upstream and downstream of the hard engineering elements to the weir to reduce scour.
The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. The works information is available for review by appointment with the project manager at the address below.
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
