A34 TRUNK ROAD NEAR ANDOVER TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) and 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to:

a) impose a 24-hour 50mph speed restriction on;



i) the northbound carriageway of the A34 between points 1050 metres north of Bullington Interchange overbridge (A303) and 1600 metres south of Whitchurch Interchange (Winchester Street) underbridge; and



ii) the southbound carriageway of the A34 between points 350 metres south of Whitchurch Interchange (Winchester Street) underbridge and 2000 metres north of Bullington Interchange overbridge (A303);



b) impose a 24-hour width restriction of 3.25 metres on the inside lane and 2.5 metres on the outside lane of;



i) the northbound carriageway of the A34 between points 1700 metres north of Bullington Interchange overbridge (A303) and 1700 metres south of Whitchurch Interchange (Winchester Street) underbridge; and



ii) the southbound carriageway of the A34 between points 1000 metres south of Whitchurch Interchange (Winchester Street) underbridge and 2100 metres north of Bullington Interchange overbridge (A303);



c) authorise the 24-hour closure of any lay-by adjacent to the carriageways described in (a) above; and



d) authorise the 24-hour closure of the gaps in the carriageway adjacent to the Firgo Farm and Tufton Warren access roads.



These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake the closure of the gaps and barrier installation. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 8 weeks starting on or after Monday 6th March 2017.

The Order would come into force on 4 March 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.

The temporary mandatory speed and width restrictions and the closures would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.

M3 MOTORWAY-JUNCTIONS 11-12 NEAR WINCHESTER TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M3 Motorway in the County of Hampshire, under Section14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:-

a) both carriageways of the M3 between Junction 11 (A3090/B3335) and Junction 12 (A335);



b) the southbound entry slip road and the northbound exit slip road at Junction 11 (A3090/B3335); and



c) the northbound entry slip road and the southbound exit slip road at



Junction 12 (A335).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway maintenance including road markings, inlays, vegetation clearance, bridge works, signage works and all associated work. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 3 weeks in phases starting on or after Monday 6th March 2017. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 4 March 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.

Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the B3335, A3090, Otterbourne Road, Main Road, Otterbourne Hill and the A335. The closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
