M4 MOTORWAY - JUNCTION 5 NEAR SLOUGH TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M4 Motorway in the Unitary Authority of Slough and the Unitary Authority of Windsor & Maidenhead, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of both carriageways of the M4 at Junction 5 (A4) between the exit and entry slip roads.

This measure would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake street lighting cable replacement.

It is expected that the work would last for approximately 9 weeks starting on or after Monday 27th February 2017. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period) on weekdays only The Order would come into force on 25 February 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be directed to leave the carriageways at Junction 5 (A4) and re-join.

The closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
