Pre-surface patching works. These works comprise filling any surface defects and raising/replacing worn iron works (manhole covers and gulley's) as well as removal of cat's eyes if present.
Phase Two
Surface dressing. The process entails spraying the road with bitumen and covering it with granite chippings, after which the road is then rolled, which along with the action of the traffic, embeds the chippings into the surface. The road will be swept within 48 hours and after 7 days. The bitumen part of the surface dressing as well as securing the chippings to the existing surface will seal the old road surface, thus preventing the ingress of water which causes deterioration of the road surface and will improve skid resistance. Phase Three
a) Reinstatement of white lines if required. Reinstatement of any road markings.
b) Reinstatement of any road studs.
