A31 TRUNK ROAD (CANFORD BOTTOM -PALMERSFORD ROUNDABOUT) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closure of-

(i) the westbound carriageway of the A31 between Palmersford Roundabout (A347) and Canford Bottom Roundabout,



(ii) the eastbound carriageway of the A31 between Canford Bottom Roundabout and Ameysford Roundabout (Cobham Road),



(iii) Ameysford Roundabout, and



(iv) the slip road leading to the westbound carriageway of the A31 at West Moors (B3027).



These measures are in the interests of road

safety while contractors undertake carriageway

resurfacing and associated works.

It is expected that the work will last for

approximately 5 nights starting on or after Monday

6th February 2017. The overnight closures will take

place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period).

The Order will come into force on

4 February 2017 and have a maximum

duration of eighteen months.

During the closures above traffic will be diverted

via the A347.

The temporary mandatory closures will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period. Access to and from Forest Links Drive from Cobham Road will be permitted under escort.
