(A327 SHINFIELD EASTERN RELIEF ROAD, SHINFIELD)
(TEMPORARY 30/40/50 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 23rd January 2017 Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) and 14(4)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") the effect of which restricts any vehicle from proceeding along the sections of road described as follows in excess of the speed limits described:-
1. 30mph speed limit
a) The new bridge across the M4 motorway - for its entirety from the B3270 Lower Early Way ('Black Boy') roundabout to the new A327 Shinfield Eastern Relief Road
b) A327 Shinfield Eastern Relief Road - from the southern end of the new bridge across the M4 motorway, westwards and southwards to its junctions with Cutbush Lane West and Shinfield Road, including the section of the Shinfield Road (Lane End Gyratory) Eastern/ Southern Arm
c) Shinfield Road (Lane End Gyratory) Western/Northern Arm - for its entirety from Shinfield Road to the southern end of the new bridge across the M4 motorway
2. 40mph speed limit
a) A327 Shinfield Eastern Relief Road from a point 165 metres east of the centre line of the new bridge across the M4 motorway in an easterly and southerly direction to the south-eastern arm of the roundabout at the junction with Shinfield Science / Business Park
b) Extend the existing speed limit on B3349 Arborfield Road from a point approximately 272 metres south east of its junction with Oatlands Road in an easterly direction for a distance of 240 metres.
3. 50mph speed limit
A327 Shinfield Eastern Relief Road from the south-eastern arm of the roundabout at the junction with Shinfield Science / Business Park in a southerly direction to the northern arm of the new Arborfield Road roundabout.
The speed limits are required to enable works in connection with the new Shinfield Eastern Relief Road. These restrictions shall only be in place whilst the necessary traffic signs are lawfully displayed. The restrictions shall not apply to vehicles being used for Police, Fire service or Ambulance purposes or to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) thereof. The Order will come into operation on 30th day of January 2017 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.
