TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the M3 Motorway in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:-
a) both carriageways of the spur road connecting the M3 roundabout to Black Dam Roundabout at Junction 6 (Black Dam Interchange) (A339);
b) the roads leading from both carriageways of the M3 at Junction 6 (Black Dam Interchange) (A339); and
c) the drive-through and circulatory system at Black Dam Roundabout (A30/A339).
These measures would be in the interests of
road safety while contractors undertake road
marking, sign replacement and/or relocation,
and vegetation clearance.
It is expected that the work would last for
approximately 5 days starting on or after
Monday 13 February 2017. The overnight
closures would take place between 21:00
and 06:00 (maximum period).
The Order would come into force on
11 February 2017 and have a maximum
duration of eighteen months.
Through traffic affected by the closures would
be diverted using other junctions on the M3,
the A30 and A3010. Light local traffic not
requiring motorway access would additionally
be diverted via the A339, Faraday Road, Swing
Swang Lane, Basing Road, The Street, Crown
Lane and Park Lane.
The closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
