(MARCHAM BRIDLEWAY 17) (TEMPORARY BRIDLEWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2013 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTIONS 14 & 15
Bridge closure - Marcham Bridleway 17 Closed by Notice: 22 July 2013 Date of Order: 5 August 2013
The above order was made to enable bridge reconstruction which is yet to be commenced. The effect of the order is to temporarily prohibit persons and vehicles using the bridge in that part of Bridleway 17 that that spans the River Ock south of Marcham Mill. The closure was commenced for public safety reasons and a timescale has still to be agreed over the repairs as matters are complicated by ownership, listed structure status and design.
The Department for Transport has agreed a further 36 months extension of the closure to 21 January 2020, or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
Appropriate signs are displayed to indicate the prohibition is in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works. There is no convenient alternative route.
