Lowering the age range of Abbeymeads Primary School

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Swindon Borough Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Abbeymeads Community Primary School, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN25 4GY from 01 September 2017.

The Local Authority is proposing to lower the age range of Abbeymeads Community Primary School to include 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This notice seeks to extend the age range from the current 4-11 status to include early years aged pupils, thereby enabling the school to offer educational provision for the full 2-11 primary age range.

The current capacity at Abbeymeads Community Primary School is for 450 pupils and the proposed expansion will increase this initially to 502 pupils. This additional capacity will be secured through utilising the existing nursery space currently occupied by Little Scholars Pre School with plans for further expansion in the near future.
