Lowering the age range of Lawn Primary School

Notice ID: SW3954039

Notice effective from
16th January 2017 to 15th February 2017

Lowering the age range of Lawn Primary School

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Swindon Borough Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Lawn Primary School, Cleeve Lawn, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 1LE from 01 September 2017.

The Local Authority is proposing to lower the age range of Lawn Primary School to include 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This notice seeks to extend the age range from the current 4-11 status to include early years aged pupils, thereby enabling the school to offer educational provision for the full 2-11 primary age range.

The current capacity at Lawn Primary School is for 420 pupils and the proposed expansion will increase this to 472 pupils. Lawn Pre School has undertaken consultation with its members and the decision has been made to dissolve the charitable status of the preschool and to amalgamate with the school, including the staff currently employed by the preschool. This additional capacity will be secured through utilising the existing preschool space currently occupied by Lawn Pre School.

This Notice is an extract from the complete proposal. Copies of the complete proposal can be obtained from: Danielle Maundrell, Swindon Borough Council, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, SN1 2JG or DMaundrell@Swindon.gov.uk Within six weeks from the date of publication of this proposal, any person may object to or make comments on the proposal by sending them to Danielle Maundrell, Swindon Borough Council, Wat Tyler House, Beckhampton Street, Swindon, SN1 2JG.
