Lowering the age range of Even Swindon Primary School

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Swindon Borough Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Even Swindon Primary School, Pasture Close, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN2 2UJ from 01 September 2017.

The Local Authority is proposing to lower the age range of Even Swindon Primary School to include 2 year olds as registered pupils of the school. The proposals would alter the current 3-11 status of the school to include early years aged pupils, thereby enabling the school to offer educational provision for the full 2-11 primary age range.

The current capacity at Even Swindon Primary School is for 622 pupils with an additional capacity to accommodate 48 2 year old children. The proposals would increase the pupil capacity of the school therefore to 670. Even Swindon Primary School already runs provision for 2 year olds, however proposals would mean that these 2 year old's are registered under the maintained school status and therefore become pupils of the school.
