Lowering the age range of Westrop Primary School

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Swindon Borough Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Westrop Primary School, Rivers Way, Highworth, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN6 7DN from 01 September 2017.

The Local Authority is proposing to lower the age range of Westrop Primary School to include 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This notice seeks to extend the age range from the current 4-11 status to include early years aged pupils, thereby enabling the school to offer educational provision for the full 2-11 primary age range.

The current capacity at Westrop Primary School is for 285 pupils and the proposed expansion will increase this to 385 pupils. This additional capacity will be secured through utilising the existing nursery space currently occupied by Highworth Pre School.
