Additional Two Lifts to Extend Quarry's Consented Reserve

The proposal is to secure mineral planning permission for a further two downward lifts of 18 metres. This will provide an additional reserve of 3.9m tonnes and extend the quarry's consented life by a further 9 years to fund further investment in the manufacture of concrete blocks at the quarry.

A public consultation event on the proposals will be held in the Cafraemill Hotel, Lauder, Berwickshire, TD2 6RA, on Thursday 26 January 2pm to 8pm.

Comments made at this consultation event will not be official representations to the planning authority but will be recorded in a report to Scottish Borders Council. Once the minerals application is submitted there will be a further formal opportunity to comment to the Council's Development Management Unit.
