(A688 EAST OF THINFORD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2016

(A688 EAST OF THINFORD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2016

The Council, on 04.01.17 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic: 1) a 200m length of A688 in an easterly direction only between its junctions with A167 Thinford Roundabout and the eastern access to the Nursery/Garden Centre; and 2) a 200m length of A688 in a westerly direction only between its junctions with the eastern access to the Nursery/Garden Centre and A167 Thinford Roundabout to enable carriageway widening works in association with a proposed development works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from 16.01.17 and for the duration ofthe works, anticipated to be for12weeks (2 daysforclosure no.2). Alternative route: from the western side of the closure from Thinford Roundabout southwards on A167 to Rushyford, westwards on A689 to A1(M) Junction 60 Bradbury, continuing on A689 to Sands Hall Roundabout, Sedgefield then northwards on A177 to Coxhoe and Tursdale to the eastern side of the closure, (and vice versa during closure no.2).

(C93 WITTON PARK BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2017

The Council proposes in not less than 7 days from the date ofthis notice to make an OrderunderSection 14(1) ofthe Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all vehicular traffic a 1.3km length of C93 Witton Park Bridge road that extends southwards between its junctions with the access to Low Wadsworth Farm/Sewage Works and Witton Park to enable: Phase 1) netting to be applied to the bridge structure; and Phase 2) maintenance works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 18 months and is required from23.01.17and fortheduration ofthe works anticipated to be 2 weeks (Phase 1) followed by a further period of around 16 weeks (Phase 2) which will be signed on site when required. Alternative route: from the southern side of the closure from Witton Park south westerly on Park Road then westerly on Sloshes Lane, north on A68 then easterly on C18a to Witton le Wear and continuing eastwards on Low Lane to the junction with C93 (signposted to Witton Park) to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa.

However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for the above 2 closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
