A31 TRUNK ROAD (CANFORD BOTTOM -PALMERSFORD ROUNDABOUT) TEMPORARYTRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an order on the A31 Trunk Road in the County of Dorset, under section14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closureof-
(i) the westbound carriageway of the A31 between Palmersford Roundabout (A347) and Canford Bottom Roundabout,
(ii) the eastbound carriageway of the A31 between Canford Bottom Roundabout and Ameysford Roundabout (Cobham Road),
(iii)AmeysfordRoundabout, and
(iv)the slip road leading to the westbound
carriageway of the A31 at West Moors
(B3027).
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake
carriageway resurfacing and associated works. It is expected that the work would last for approximately 5nights starting on or after Monday 6th February 2017. The overnight closures would take place between 22:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 4February 2017 and have amaximum duration
of eighteen months.
During the closures above traffic would be
diverted via the A347.
The temporary mandatory closures would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are
in operation during the works period.
Access to and from Forest Links Drive from Cobham Road would be permitted under escort. MTaylor, an Official of Highways England Co Ltd.
