Herefordshire Council Notice of Intention

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the A438 From The Firs to the Worcestershire Boundary, Hollybush Temporary Closure Order 2016 to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles from 'The Cottage' to the 'Dipping Tank Barn' OS Grid Ref: 375992/236880 to 376434/236875. The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the A449 onto the A4104 toward Upton Upon Severn onto the A38 toward Tewkesbury onto the A438 and vice versa.

The said closure is required due to the replacement of water mains and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 24th January 2017 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months, (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State), but the works are expected to be completed within 1 month approximately .
