M25 JUNCTION 30 (MAR DYKE INTERCHANGE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited has made an order on the A13 Trunk Road and M25 Motorway in the Unitary Authority of Thurrock, under Section 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because of a likelihood of danger to the public. The effect of the Order will be to authorise a 24 hour 50mph speed restriction at Mar Dyke Interchange (M25 Junction 30) on -

(i) a distance of 170 metres, between a point 145 metres south of Stifford Road overbridge, on the slip road leading from the clockwise carriageway of the M25, to the diverge point where the slip road leading to the eastbound carriageway of the A13 exits the roundabout, including the segregated left turn lane;

(ii) a distance of 75 metres, between the merge point where the slip road (leading from the westbound carriageway of the trunk road) enters the roundabout, to the diverge point where the clockwise link road (connecting to the roundabout at Junction 31 of the M25) exits the roundabout;

(Hi) a distance of 400 metres, between a point 80 metres south of the Mar Dyke Viaduct West, on the northbound link road (connecting from the roundabout at Junction 31 of the M25), to the diverge point where the slip road (leading to the westbound carriageway of the A13) exits the roundabout;

(iv) a distance of 155 metres, between a point 40 metres east of the tip of the nosing of the

slip road (leading from the eastbound carriageway of the A13), to the diverge point where the slip road (leading to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25) exits the roundabout, excluding the segregated left turn lane; and

(v) the entire length of the roundabout, a distance of 805 metres.

These measures will be in the interests of road safety until a permanent 50mph speed limit can be implemented. The Order will come into force on 4 January 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. The temporary mandatory speed restriction will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
