Temporary Closure of Policeman's Lane, Upton
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Policeman's Lane between its junctions with the B3067, Dorchester Road and Watery Lane, a distance of approximately 320 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on Monday 09 January 2017 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Sunday 29 January 2017. This order will enable Mackoy Limited to install a large culvert in the highway.
Alternative vehicular routes will be signed using Watery Lane, Sea View Road and the B3067, Dorchester Road. Access will be maintained for all residents of Policemans Lane and Poppy Close from one side of the closure or the other as indicated by the traffic signs on site.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath No. 17, West Parley

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [I] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Public Footpath No. 17, West Parley from grid reference SZ085982 to grid reference SZ086982. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 16th January 2017. The order will remain in force for 6 months and can be, extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. However, these works are anticipated to be complete by 30th January 2017. This closure is needed to enableJDT Utilities safe access to relay gas mains and services.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: From the southern end of the closure, walk south along Parley Close to the junction with Christchurch Road. Head east along Christchurch Road for 202 metres to the start of Footpath 13. Proceed north along this footpath to the northern end of the closure. The reverse route applies.
